Mumbai, April 06, 2026: LTM has announced the rollout of “Universal AI,” an online learning programme developed by MIT Open Learning, for its workforce in collaboration with upGrad Enterprise.
The initiative aims to strengthen AI literacy and decision-making capabilities across LTM’s talent pool, covering both technical and non-technical roles. The programme is designed to build foundational understanding of artificial intelligence, enabling employees to apply scientific thinking and first-principles reasoning in an increasingly AI-driven business environment.
The Universal AI programme is a self-paced course created by MIT Open Learning faculty. It includes 16 foundational modules along with industry-specific content, focusing on how AI systems function, the technologies behind them, and the ethical considerations involved. The course is accessible to learners across all experience levels and does not require prior coding knowledge.
By introducing this programme, LTM aims to institutionalise AI fluency within its organisation, equipping employees to make informed, logic-driven decisions and contribute to innovation and client growth.
Gururaj Deshpande, Chief Delivery Officer, LTM, said, "With AI advancing rapidly, the importance of human intervention in AI solutions is crucial for effective functioning and optimised outcomes. Strategic workforce upskilling is essential to building impactful AI-led solutions. Deploying this cutting-edge MIT Open Learning program through our upGrad partnership will strengthen our AI expertise that will define the next era of innovation.”
Ronnie Screwvala, Chairperson & Co-Founder, upGrad, added, “Providing upskilling opportunities in AI to employees in turn bridges capability gaps with the speed, scale, and precision. It builds a future-ready workforce that can develop innovative AI-led solutions for diverse industries, with social and economic impact in mind. At upGrad Enterprise, we bring our deep expertise in outcome-driven workforce development to build a powerful global skilled workforce, and we are very excited to partner with LTM to implement this.”
The programme will be delivered through upGrad Enterprise, which will support deployment and enable access to MIT-level learning resources. Upon completion, participants will receive credentials from MIT Open Learning, certifying their understanding of AI fundamentals and readiness to apply them in professional contexts.
The initiative reflects a growing emphasis on workforce transformation and continuous learning as organisations adapt to rapid technological advancements.
