Udaipur, July 09, 2025: Hindustan Zinc, a Vedanta Group company and the world’s largest integrated zinc producer, has announced that its cumulative social investment has surpassed ₹1,750 crore since 2016, marking a 112% increase over the past decade. The company’s community development efforts now span over 2,300 villages, positively impacting more than 2.3 million individuals across Rajasthan.

The company’s CSR interventions cover a wide spectrum—including education, health, livelihoods, sanitation, women’s empowerment, and sports. Through flagship programmes like Shiksha Sambal, Unchi Udaan, and Jeevan Tarang, the company supports more than 35,000 students and over 2,600 differently-abled individuals with education and skill-building opportunities.

Under its healthcare portfolio, Hindustan Zinc has introduced mobile oncology vans, healthcare-on-wheels, and critical support during the COVID-19 crisis. Its sanitation work includes commissioning Udaipur’s first 60 MLD sewage treatment plant and installing safe drinking water systems in over 50 villages.

The company has also focused on nutrition and early childhood care by establishing nearly 2,500 Nand Ghars—modern Anganwadis that offer digital learning, health services, and women’s skill training. These centres have benefitted over 3.5 lakh children and mothers during FY25.

In livelihood development, more than 35,000 farmer families have been supported through the Samadhan programme. Five Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) under the initiative collectively achieved nearly ₹5 crore turnover in FY25. Meanwhile, Zinc Football Academy, with AIFF 3-star certification, has trained over 650 young athletes through residential and community coaching.

Women’s empowerment remains a priority, with over 26,000 women engaged through 2,150+ self-help groups (SHGs) under the Sakhi programme, enabling microfinancing and sustainable income. The company’s Uthori campaign has further sensitised over 2.3 lakh people in 130 villages on social issues like child marriage, domestic violence, and menstrual hygiene.

Hindustan Zinc also continues to invest in rural infrastructure, environmental conservation, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

The company’s vision is to position Rajasthan as a national model for inclusive and sustainable development. “By blending industrial excellence with social purpose, the company is not just creating value for stakeholders—but building a legacy for the people it serves,” the release stated.
