Noida, June 9, 2025: HCLTech has announced the winners of the second edition of its Climate Action Grant in the Americas, awarding a total of $1 million to three non-governmental organizations (NGOs) for their efforts to combat climate change through scalable and sustainable solutions.

Costa Rica-based Osa Conservation has been selected as the winner and will receive $500,000. Daily Acts, based in California, and Ocean Wise, based in Canada, have been named runners-up and will receive $250,000 each.

Now in its second year, the grant program saw over a 70% increase in applications. Registrations grew by 34% across the 10 eligible countries in the Americas, which included Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Peru, and the United States.

Osa Conservation will use the grant to support its Climate Lifeboat corridors, aimed at reconnecting fragmented tropical habitats to support species migration and climate adaptation. The project seeks to protect biodiversity across large tropical forest landscapes.

Daily Acts will utilize the funding for a community-powered climate resilience initiative in California, integrating local government strategies with grassroots action to improve water management, stormwater mitigation, and neighborhood resilience.

Ocean Wise will allocate its grant to a kelp forest restoration project on the Pacific coast. The project focuses on managing urchin populations and using ecological research and technology to improve marine biodiversity and support coastal communities.

“We are excited to support this year’s recipients of the HCLTech Grant Americas as they expand their innovative projects to reconnect natural habitats, boost community resilience and rejuvenate marine ecosystems across the Americas,” said Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, Senior Vice President, Global CSR, HCLTech. “This year, we saw a substantial increase in applications, highlighting the urgency of mitigating the adverse effects of climate change and the importance of supporting initiatives that pave the way for a sustainable future.”

The HCLTech Climate Action Grant in the Americas was launched in 2023 with a commitment of $5 million over five years. It is part of the company’s broader CSR strategy, delivered through the HCLFoundation, which has invested over $175 million in CSR programs globally.
