New Delhi, July 1, 2021: The social sector projects which made significant contribution towards emerging social and community needs amidst the COVID pandemic, will be recognised during a national-level COVID Response Impact Awards 2021 to be held in August.
Nomination process for the social sector projects has begun on July 1. The award programme, constituted by TheCSRUniverse, will recognise the best social sector projects that were launched and executed in response to the COVID pandemic after March 2020. The award will be given in a total of 8 selected categories which fall under CSR domain in India.
Announcing the initiative, Ruchika Kumar, Editor, TheCSRUniverse said, "This initiative of TheCSRUniverse is aimed at finding, recognising and disseminating the best CSR projects conceptualised and executed during COVID pandemic."
"As COVID presented huge challenges for Corporates and NGOs/implementation agencies, the social sector initiatives emerged much stronger out of this crisis by contributing big time to changing social needs. This was the time when the quick relief measures and extraordinary efforts exhibited by corporates went beyond CSR policy expectations. This Award will bring due recognition to the strategic approach of corporates and project implementation partners towards project execution during COVID, so that it highlights their achievements and helps social sector organisations to learn from best practices in the domain," Kumar said.
The award will be based on a multi-layered selection process led by an expert jury who will pick the best 3 COVID-related projects under each of the following themes:
• COVID Response Impact in Education
• COVID Response Impact in Health
• COVID Response Impact in Skill Development
• COVID Response Impact in Women and Child Development
• COVID Response Impact in Food and Nutrition
• COVID Response Impact in Research & Development
• COVID Response Impact in Microfinance
• COVID Response Impact in Awareness Campaigns
The award ceremony will be held in the month of August where top leaders from corporate world, different social sector organisation and academia will speak and share insights on rising importance of social initiatives amid COVID pandemic.
