New Delhi, December 16, 2023: Prioritizing the welfare of over 500 villagers, Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited (Chola), the financial services arm of Murugappa Group, is reinforcing its commitment to provide environmentally sustainable energy solutions for remote areas of Cuttack District.

Addressing challenges like limited access to basic infrastructure and services, Chola's CSR project 'Swaccha Odisha Gram Vikas Phase VI' aims to enhance health and sanitation facilities in Ekdal, HarijanSahi, and Bhaliadihi villages of Cuttack district, offering significant benefits to the local community.

The project involves the construction of individual household toilets connected to overhead water tanks, ensuring improved sanitation and water supply. Solar panels will be installed to power borewells and provide electricity to each house, addressing the issue of continuous power cuts in the region. This initiative aligns with Chola's commitment to promoting sustainable living environments and fostering awareness on safe drinking water, sanitation, and health in remote areas.

Mr. Ravindra Kundu, Executive Director of Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Company Limited highlighted the significance of this initiative, stating, "Chola Finance is focussed towards helping India achieve its Sustainable development Goals. As a part of nation building, we are thrilled to reiterate our commitment towards sustainable energy, taking strides towards a cleaner, greener future. By embracing renewable resources and cutting-edge technologies, we aim to drive positive change and inspire others to join us on this impactful journey. This mission will benefit the people of Ektal, HarijanSahi and Bhaliadihi villages in Cuttack with better infrastructure for clean and healthy sanitation facilities. This is our sixth phase of the initiatives carried out in Odisha. We are looking forward to the impact we will bring through our continuous work in Odisha and aim to contribute towards cleaner and greener environment"

To complement the infrastructure development, Chola Finance will conduct awareness sessions on safety, hygiene, and healthy toilet practices. Additionally, training programs on minimal repair and maintenance of the solar units will be organized, ensuring the smooth operation of the water supply system and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
