AquaKraft and Hyundai Motor India Foundation install clean drinking water systems in Madhya Pradesh schools

Bhopal, August 18, 2023. AquaKraft Projects Pvt. Ltd. has taken steps to provide Clean Drinking Water Systems to 50 schools in Madhya Pradesh, in collaboration with Lok Shikhshan Sanchanalay. AquaKraft conducted a baseline study and secured CSR funding from Hyundai Motor India Foundation for the initiative. As per the dictates of this collaboration, water purifiers were installed in 50 government schools across 7 districts, benefiting over 30,000 children and 3,000 staff members. The project, a part of Hyundai's CSV philosophy, aims to improve health and attendance for a better future. The water purification systems address contamination and have a capacity of purifying up to 500 liters of water per hour. 

Commenting on the ‘Safe Drinking Water for a Better Future’’ initiative, Mr. Puneet Anand, AVP & Vertical Head – Corporate Affairs, Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “In-line with Hyundai’s global CSV (Creating Shared Values) philosophy of ‘CONTINUE’, HMIF has been giving back to society through initiatives under the CSV core pillars of ‘Earth’. ‘Mobility’ and ‘Hope’. The ‘Safe Drinking Water for a Better Future’ initiative is an important step towards a healthier future. It is our goal to ensure that the basic requirement of safe & clean drinking water for school-going students is met across the state of Madhya Pradesh. By providing safe & clean drinking water the initiative is working towards alleviating water borne illness in students & staff thus helping to ensure higher attendance in the schools. Through this initiative we aim to nourish dreams and foster a brighter & healthier generation.”

With the cooperation of school administrations, the initiative is successfully implemented across 7 districts in Madhya Pradesh. Governor of AquaKraft Group Ventures, Mr. C. Sridhar, expressed gratitude to Hyundai Motor India Foundation and praised the collective effort in implementing the program. Students and staff took a pledge to save water and promote conservation.
