New Delhi, February 6, 2024: ACC, the cement and building material company of the Adani Group, is driving sustainable agriculture through its LEISA (Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture) project. Collaborating with Rajiblochan Producers Company Limited (RPCL), supported by the Adani Foundation, the initiative aims to empower farmers in villages surrounding the Bargarh plant.
The LEISA project provides training and support for the adoption of organic farming methods, resulting in reduced input costs, increased yields, and improved crop quality for participating farmers.
Ahallad Pradhan, a 32-year-old farmer from Khedapali village, Bardol block, witnessed significant success by transitioning to organic farming. Diversifying his crops and utilizing organic inputs, Ahallad generated a total income of Rs 4.16 lakh in a year, supporting his family and securing savings for the future.
Supported by subsidized organic inputs and facilitated marketing through RPCL, the LEISA project not only boosts farmers' incomes but also contributes to environmental conservation by reducing chemical usage and enhancing soil fertility. With such initiatives, ACC and Adani Foundation continue to promote socio-economic development and ecological balance in Bargarh district's farming community.
