Delhi, January 26, 2024: Har Dil Mein Samvidhan, a people's campaign dedicated to integrating the essence of the Indian Constitution into everyday lives, is set to commemorate the historic 75th Republic Day on January 26, 2024. The campaign, supported by 982 partners across 373 districts in 27 states and 4 union territories, aims to continue its outreach until February 3, 2024.
Partners from diverse regions, including Jharkhand, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh, have joined, with representation from 50% of districts in Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Jammu & Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The campaign has garnered participation from the North Eastern states, including Assam and Meghalaya, as well as involvement from Daman & Diu.
Ram, Executive Director of Mission Samriddhi and Co-organizer of Har Dil Mein Samvidhan, expressed excitement about the venture, stating, "Constitutional awareness is essential for every citizen so that they can use the Constitution as a life guide."
Since India's first Republic Day in 1950, the Constitution has been the nation's bedrock, upholding values of equality, liberty, justice, and fraternity. Despite seven decades of progress, a substantial number of citizens remain unaware of the Constitution's core values, rights, and responsibilities.
Vinita Gursahani Singh, Managing Trustee of We, The People Abhiyan and Co-organizer of Har Dil Mein Samvidhan, emphasized, "Knowing our Constitution helps us recognize and reduce inequalities and injustice in society. It also enables us to demand accountability from elected representatives."
The campaign's tagline, "know, recognize and live," encapsulates its vision to bridge this awareness gap, fostering engagement with the Constitution's relevance in daily life. Har Dil Mein Samvidhan aims to provide an open platform for individuals and institutions to actively celebrate constitutional values and increase their visibility in mainstream media.
Various activities, including Street Plays, Workshops, Cycle Rallies, Marathons, Pad-Yatra/Jagrukta, Blood Donation, and Preamble distribution, are being organized by partners across schools, colleges, anganwadi centers, and community gatherings. Constitution-themed games, cultural events, and multilingual recitations of the preamble aim to reach diverse audiences, especially the youth.
As part of the campaign, "Hamari Virasat" by Hand For Handmade Foundation showcases 75 handmade textile artworks inspired by the Constitution's art and ideals at the Kala Ghoda Festival in Mumbai.
Rajesh Kalam from Sajha Netritva Manch, Harda, Madhya Pradesh, highlighted the inclusivity of the campaign, stating, "If the Constitution reaches every heart and we start living it, how beautiful our society and country will look with justice, fraternity, equality, and freedom at its core!"
Through nationwide action, Har Dil Mein Samvidhan is cultivating awareness about constitutional values, aiming to awaken the collective consciousness of all citizens and realize the vision of 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' - the world is one family.
