Mumbai, November 24, 2024: Tata Motors has released its 10th Annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report, detailing its efforts to improve the lives of over 1 million people in FY24. The report, titled “Building Together a Million Dreams”, underscores the company's strategic interventions across 94 aspirational districts in 26 states and 8 union territories, with more than 40% of beneficiaries belonging to SC and ST communities.
Vinod Kulkarni, Head of CSR at Tata Motors, commented, “Our efforts have been guided by the 'More for Less for More' strategy, which focuses on driving efficiencies, leveraging technology, and scaling programs to broaden our reach and deepen our impact. We remain committed to addressing critical social issues and promoting sustainable development in education, health, employability, and environmental protection.”
Key Highlights of FY24 CSR Activities
Water Security Initiatives: In partnership with NAAM Foundation and the Government of Maharashtra, Tata Motors rejuvenated 106 water bodies under the Amrit Sarovar Mission. This effort created a capacity of 1,860 million litres of water, benefiting districts like Palghar, Pune, and Satara by improving irrigation, water tables, and access to potable water.
Integrated Village Development Program (IVDP): Implemented in tribal areas of Maharashtra and expanded to other plant locations, IVDP reduced migration by 20% and increased average household income by 60%. Notable success includes transforming the Navapara village in Gujarat, where 190 households adopted fishery as a primary livelihood.
Environmental Initiatives: Over 1.7 million saplings were planted in Palghar, benefiting 13,000 farmers and converting 13,000 acres of barren land into productive use. Urban forestry efforts in Pune saw 125,000 trees planted, absorbing 300,000 kg of carbon annually.
Education Programs: The ENABLE Program supported 18,000 students preparing for JEE and NEET exams, with 27% qualifying for IIT JEE and 79% for NEET.
Youth Employability Training: The LEAP program trained 1,500 youth annually in automotive skills, with an 80% placement rate.
Tribal Livelihood Support: A Farmers Producer Group in Pune helped tribal families generate INR 4 crore in revenue from the sale of hirda berries, benefiting over 5,000 families.
Healthcare Initiatives: In Jamshedpur, the Malnutrition Treatment Centre treated 5,500 children annually and expanded outreach programs. Similar initiatives were introduced in Uttarakhand through Parvarish Kendras.
Employee Volunteering: Tata Motors achieved record employee participation, with 59% of its workforce contributing 1,17,000 hours to community service.
