Rockwell Automation releases 2023 Sustainability Report, highlights collaboration with manufacturing industry and communities

New Delhi, Jan 24, 2024: Rockwell Automation, Inc. has published its 2023 Sustainability Report, detailing the company's sustainability progress and outcomes. The report emphasizes Rockwell's collaboration with the manufacturing industry and communities globally to drive sustainable impact and change.

In India, Rockwell executed initiatives, including solar light installation projects, environmental efforts like sapling distribution, and sponsorship of robotic and STEM education programs. The company also outlined its recent involvement in modernizing farming practices in rural India in partnership with ISAP India Foundation.

Smart manufacturing technologies play a critical role in Rockwell's Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and sustainability success. Survey results from the company’s 8th annual State of Smart Manufacturing Report indicate that manufacturers pursue sustainability and ESG policies primarily to enhance efficiencies.

The report details Rockwell Automation’s progress in its ESG journey, focusing on supporting customers’ sustainability efforts with innovative products and solutions. The company aims to be carbon neutral by 2030 (Scope 1 and 2 emissions), and the report discusses its work toward this goal, along with information about Rockwell’s Scope 3 emissions baseline.

The 2023 report introduces new ESG initiatives, including joining the UN Global Compact, addressing eight UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), and participation in the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) to address corporate climate action. Rockwell has also established a team for integrating sustainability design principles into product development processes.

“We’ve been improving the efficiency of industrial processes for more than 120 years, which includes making the most of scarce resources,” said Rockwell Automation Chairman & CEO Blake Moret. “Today, our technology and expertise help manufacturers in diverse industries address the complex challenge of making high-quality products at scale while minimizing negative impacts on the environment.”

The report underscores Rockwell Automation's commitment to building sustainable communities by addressing workforce and skill shortages. It highlights efforts to create a skilled, engaged workforce and emphasizes the importance of collaboration with government, educational institutions, and industry to develop necessary workforce skills.
