Project AMBER Celebrates Success with Over 350 Alumni at Jaipur Event

New Delhi, February 6, 2024 – The Bharatam Auditorium in Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur, Rajasthan, was abuzz with excitement and inspiration as Project AMBER (Accelerated Mission for Better Employment and Retention) held its successful Alumni Connect 2024.

This event marked a milestone for the joint initiative of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Generation India Foundation (GIF), which operates under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). Project AMBER is part of the larger Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion ("SANKALP") program, funded by MSDE with support from the World Bank and private philanthropy.

The Alumni Connect saw participation from over 350 graduates of Project AMBER from Rajasthan, demonstrating the initiative's remarkable success in enhancing employment and retention outcomes. Attendees included alumni who have secured positions in notable companies such as Tata Trent - Zudio, Inox India, Just Dial Pvt. Ltd., and Cinepolis, highlighting the project's significant impact on their professional lives.

The event featured heartfelt testimonials from Project AMBER graduates. Himanshu Jangdid, an alumnus of the AMBER Customer Care Executive program, shared how the project not only improved his career prospects but also brought positive changes to his life and his family's. Khushi Dhanka, who completed the AMBER Retail Sales Associate program, expressed her pride in achieving financial independence through the employment opportunity she gained via Project AMBER.

A key highlight of the event was the certification ceremony, where outstanding AMBER alumni and training partners were honored for their achievements and contributions to the project's success. This recognition served as a testament to the collective effort and dedication that has powered Project AMBER towards achieving its goals.

Arunesh Singh, CEO of Generation India Foundation, emphasized the transformative nature of Project AMBER, stating, "Project AMBER isn't just about training; it's a powerful force for change. We're dedicated to creating a positive impact that goes beyond just getting a job. This initiative shows what can happen when different groups come together for a shared goal – a future where young people are skilled, included, and shining bright."

Project AMBER aims to train 30,000 youth, with a commitment to ensuring that 50% of the trainees are women. The project employs Generation’s holistic 7-step skilling methodology to ensure high-quality skilling, leading to better employment and retention outcomes. Through its focus on post-COVID resilient job roles, Project AMBER not only equips individuals with necessary skills but also fosters a supportive community that encourages ongoing personal and professional development.
