Optum's G.I.V.E. initiative mobilizes over a thousand volunteers for community impact

New Delhi, October 30, 2023: Optum, a key player in health solutions and care delivery, as part of United Health Group (UHG), a Fortune 5 company, conducted its annual Geographically Inclusive Volunteer Event (G.I.V.E.) on a global scale. G.I.V.E. is a companywide employee volunteering initiative dedicated to creating a positive impact within local communities.

In this year's G.I.V.E. event, more than one thousand Optum volunteers in Gurugram, Noida, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Chennai came together to organize and participate in a series of activities and initiatives for 15 non-governmental organizations (NGOs). These endeavours encompassed blood donation drives, children's sports and activities, interactions with the elderly at old age homes, live performances, and more.

On the significance and scale of the initiative, Uma Ratnam Krishnan, Managing Director - India, Optum Global Solutions said, “At Optum, we recognize our collective power to make an impact, and strive to offer our team members unique opportunities to make a difference. Geographically Inclusive Volunteer Event or G.I.V.E. is one such opportunity, where team members from across Optum come together to make a global impact. The activities planned during this two-week long event range from NGO visits, collection drives, arts, and sports events and much more. Through this concentrated effort we will be touching over 3,000 lives, at 15 NGOs, across five cities. And this is how we are caring, connecting and growing together at Optum.”

The G.I.V.E. initiative represents Optum's commitment to giving back to the communities it serves. The focus remains on meaningful community impact and service, reflecting the company's dedication to social responsibility.
