The India Sustainability Report 2024 presents a compelling snapshot of the company’s progress, mapping its performance against McCain’s global sustainability strategy while spotlighting strides made in India’s operations.
The report highlights significant achievements in key areas:
- Emissions Reduction: 30% reduction in Scope 3 emissions intensity.
- Renewable Energy: 28% of electricity sourced from renewables.
- Packaging Recyclability: 90% of packaging designed for recyclability.
- Responsible Sourcing: Working towards 100% RSPO segregated palm oil used for McCain-owned products by 2025.
- Healthier Products: 16% reduction in sodium (weighted-sales average) in McCain branded appetizer products as compared to 2018.
- Water use efficiency improved by 25% as compared to 2017
- Community Impact: Project Utthan has led to a 25%+ increase in the income of vulnerable farmers through transitioning to high-yield short term crops.
- Food Safety: McCain India maintains GFSI Certification of Mehsana plant and 100% of Tier one ingredient supplier facilities are GFSI certified.
