Pune, Jan 10, 2025: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday inaugurated a bore well revival project in Kanhur Mesai village, Shirur taluka, Pune, spearheaded by RSB Group through its CSR arm, RSB Foundation. In collaboration with Mukhyamantri Janaklyan Kashsh and Seva Sahyog Foundation, this initiative aims to address the acute water scarcity in the region by ensuring sustainable access to water resources for the local communities.

The project, supported by RSB Foundation, is expected to alleviate water shortages for drought-prone villages in Kanhur Mesai, Khairewadi, and Kendur in Pune District.

The initiative's primary goal is to combat water scarcity through rainwater harvesting and bore well recharging technologies. By efficiently collecting and storing rainwater, the project ensures a steady and sustainable water supply for the targeted areas, reducing reliance on erratic traditional water sources. This project will provide 1 crore 50 lakh litres of water conservation through which 100 wells will be recharged in nearby areas facilitating second crop cultivation to the farmers and curb drinking water problem, making the villages tanker free.

Representing RSB Group were Mr. Rajnikant Behera, Executive Director, RSB Group; Ms. Priyanka Behera, Head – CSR, RSB Group; and Mr. Chetan Kusalkar, Senior Executive Officer, CSR.
