Bhopal, Sep 30, 2024: EV brand Lectrix has launched an initiative in Bhopal to provide underprivileged women with valuable training in electric vehicle (EV) technology.
The initiative was launched by one of Lectrix’s dealerships in Bhopal, Fumotives Private Limited under the supervision of their Director Sudhanshu Sharma. In this 2.5-month course, 30 women from a local NGO - Desai Foundation Trust are gaining both theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in two-wheeler EV production.
The initiative, launched in July 2024, covers the assembly of EV parts, including motors, controllers, and batteries. The goal is to empower these women with practical skills that are directly applicable in the fast-growing EV industry. At the completion of the course, participants will not only be offered job opportunities at the dealership but will also possess marketable skills that can lead to employment in other EV production facilities.
This initiative is part of Lectrix’s broader commitment to social empowerment and sustainability. This project is currently led by the local dealership in Bhopal and Lectrix is closely monitoring its progress with an eye towards replicating this model in other cities across India.
“We believe in the power of education to change lives,” said Pritesh Talwar, President of EV Business, Lectrix EV. He added, “We are proud to support Fumotives Private Limited, our dealership in Bhopal, for its outstanding initiative of empowering women through EV training. Led by Director Sudhanshu Sharma, this program is providing 30 women from the Desai Foundation Trust with practical skills in EV production, offering them a pathway to sustainable careers. We're inspired by the dealership's dedication and believe this effort embodies our core values of community empowerment and sustainability. Lectrix supports this impactful initiative. We hope to be able to further replicate it on a larger scale driving positive change for a brighter, greener future.”
As part of this initiative, Lectrix continues to explore ways in which it can further empower underrepresented communities and encourage sustainable practices across its dealership network.
