Mumbai, July 14, 2025: Godrej Enterprises Group has reinforced its commitment to youth skilling through its flagship initiative, Project Disha, which continues to create employment opportunities for India’s growing workforce. In FY25, the initiative trained over 9,000 candidates, with 45% of them successfully placed in various industries.

Launched in 2011, Project Disha has so far impacted more than 200,000 young individuals by equipping them with practical, industry-relevant skills in sectors such as manufacturing, digital technology, and services. The initiative supports India’s evolving economic landscape and growing demand for a future-ready workforce.

“With a significant youth population, India is uniquely positioned to leverage its demographic dividend. However, it must be ensured that young people are ready to take on roles demanded by the rapidly shifting technological innovations and cross-cutting roles across sectors. As we mark World Youth Skills Day, we are proud to celebrate the impact of Project Disha and deepen our engagement with institutions that are shaping India’s workforce. Our partnerships with ITIs and our continued investment in training infrastructure reflect our belief in inclusive, future-ready development,” said Ashwini Deodeshmukh, Head, CSR & Sustainability Reporting, Godrej Enterprises Group.

The Group’s skilling efforts extend beyond training to developing a sustainable ecosystem for skill development. This includes transforming training institutions into Centres of Excellence (CoEs) with upgraded infrastructure, modern equipment, and industry-aligned pedagogy.

In a recent move to deepen its outreach, Godrej partnered with Government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Maharashtra to modernize facilities in Mumbai, Raigad, and Satara. These efforts focus on improving physical infrastructure, updating curriculum to include industry insights, and integrating practical exposure for students through visits to Godrej factories.

Godrej also supports curriculum upgrades across trades such as welding, refrigeration and air conditioning (RAC), lift maintenance, and IoT-enabled manufacturing systems. Through these targeted interventions, students are trained on both foundational skills and emerging technologies.

By continuing to collaborate with skilling institutions and government bodies, Godrej Enterprises Group aims to align vocational training with real-world job opportunities, contributing to India’s human capital development and the broader goals of inclusive growth and self-reliance.
