Games24x7 Foundation launches 'Wheels of Change' initiative on National Girl Child Day

Mumbai, January 25, 2024: Games24x7 Foundation, the non-profit arm of online skill gaming company Games24x7, is introducing the 'Wheels of Change' initiative on National Girl Child Day. The initiative aims to distribute 1000 bicycles in Dharashiv district, specifically targeting Bhoom, Washi, and Paranda, to address the challenge of over 5.5 Lakh out-of-school girls in India.

In response to the distance acting as a deterrent for girl students and contributing to the alarming dropout rates, the initiative seeks to offer a sense of independence, security, and shorter commutes, breaking barriers to education for deserving girls. Maharashtra's student dropout rates, standing at a 10.7% annual rate at the secondary level, are a significant concern. Recognizing this as a barrier to the new National Education Policy's 100% enrolment goal by 2030, the foundation aims to make a transformative impact on education accessibility.

Bhavin Pandya, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Games24x7, said, Through the 'Wheels of Change' initiative, we aim to empower a cultural transformation, fostering a society where learning and aspiration know no bounds. This endeavour is fueled by the unwavering support of the Ministry of Public Health and Family Welfare, Government of Maharashtra, propelling our mission to build an inclusive and progressive future.”

The 'Wheels of Change' initiative builds on Games24x7 Foundation's successful ventures in education, hunger, and healthcare. Collaborating with local authorities, the foundation will conduct orientation sessions on road safety and compile data on attendance, punctuality, and educational aspirations, providing valuable insights into the initiative's impact. This marks a pivotal step in the foundation's mission to stimulate lasting change for generations to come.
