New Delhi, 03 September, 2020: In a bid to make the information regarding ongoing developments of Covid-19 vaccine accessible to all, CSM Technologies has built a one-stop platform named ‘CoVaTrack’ where any individual can check the name of players active in vaccine development and also their current status. The initiative has been taken under the CSR of the company.

The company says, "As the global quest continues for an effective panacea to forestall the spread of the CoVID-19 pandemic, GovTech pioneer CSM Technologies has designed and developed "CoVaTrack"- the first India focused Covid-19 vaccine & treatment tracker."

The tracker ‘CoVaTrack’ intends to provide all the information related to ongoing vaccine development. Though, the tracker just aggregates information which are already available in public domain but it makes the task easier for a person if one can find all the vaccine related data and information at one place.

As of September 3, the tracker tells that a total of 523 trials are going on across the world. Out of these, five are in phase-III which means these vaccines are in a large scale efficacy test.

Currently, India is witnessing around 80,000 Covid-19 cases on a daily basis and more than 1,000 people are losing their lives daily due to this virus. India has registered 38, 93,751 Covid-19 cases so far, out of which around 67,000 people have lost their lives so far. However, the government is moving ahead with the plan to open the economy, despite the Covid scare among the people. For example, students are protesting against NEET/JEE exams which are scheduled to be held in September only.

At a time when people are struggling and are desperate to get a solution, this tracker can help them track and stay updated about the vaccine development.

Indian government has also been pushing vaccine development under CSR activities. Recently, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has permitted companies to spend their CSR fund on research and development for finding vaccines, medicines and medical equipment meant to fight with Covid-19 pandemic.  Now, the firms can claim CSR benefits for such activities until the 2022-2023 financial year, says the notification issued on August 24.
