New Delhi, February 02, 2026: YiPPee!, as part of the ITC YiPPee! Better World CSR programme, organised a Plastic Waste Management Mega Awareness Fair to promote responsible plastic use and sustainable practices among school children. The event was inaugurated by Mrs. Pranitha, Principal, District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), and held at KPS Primary School, Hegganahalli, with support from ITC and implementation by Agastya International Foundation.
The awareness fair focused on educating primary and high school students about plastic pollution and encouraging practical actions around reducing, reusing, and recycling plastic waste. The initiative is part of the YiPPee! Better World programme, which aims to build awareness on sustainability through age-appropriate and activity-based learning.
The launch event witnessed the participation of around 1,800 students from KPS Primary School, Hegganahalli, Bengaluru. As part of the programme, 1,800 Plastic Smart workbooks were distributed to students. The fair included interactive activities such as poster displays, science models on plastic waste management, and demonstrations showcasing the repurposing of plastic waste materials.
Several education officials and school representatives attended the event, including the Bangalore South Nodal Officer, school principals, cluster resource persons, and headmasters from the Hegganahalli cluster.
Mrs. Pranitha said, “Plastic waste and the need for recycling. Initiatives such as this make learning about sustainability engaging, practical, and enjoyable. I am glad that our collective efforts are helping shape a generation committed to a cleaner and greener Karnataka and India.”
Mr. Suresh Chand, Vice President & Head of Marketing – Snacks, Noodles & Pasta, Foods Business, ITC Ltd., said, “At ITC, we believe that sustainability and education go hand in hand. YiPPee!
