Mumbai, August 21, 2025: Samsung India has expanded its Galaxy Empowered programme to Mumbai, aiming to upskill teachers, principals, and school administrators with digital tools and modern pedagogies. The initiative, launched earlier in New Delhi, has already reached more than 250 schools and certified over 2,700 teachers.

The Mumbai chapter was inaugurated in the presence of Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Innovation, Maharashtra; Shri Vishal V. Sharma, Ambassador and Permanent Representative of India to UNESCO, Paris; and Shri Himanshu Gupta, Secretary, CBSE. Over 350 educators and school leaders from across Maharashtra and neighbouring states attended the event.

“Mumbai represents the spirit of innovation in Indian education. With Galaxy Empowered, we are equipping educators with the tools they need to engage students, inspire curiosity, and drive meaningful change in classrooms across the country. Our vision is to empower 20,000 teachers by 2025—and Mumbai is a crucial milestone in that journey,” said Raju Pullan, Senior Vice President, MX Business, Samsung India.

Minister Lodha highlighted the role of teacher empowerment in building India’s future: “India is moving forward faster than ever before, and initiatives like Samsung Galaxy Empowered reflect our shared commitment to shaping a skilled, future-ready nation. By empowering teachers, we will shape society’s future together, and India will rise to new heights.”

The programme is structured around three pillars—AI and technology upskilling, experiential learning and certification, and peer networking. Training modules include online and in-person workshops, immersive bootcamps, mentorship, and certification support. Participants also receive free access to Samsung’s curated workshops and exclusive offers on devices.

“Through Galaxy Empowered, we are helping teachers seamlessly integrate AI and technology into their lessons, enhance engagement, and build classrooms ready for tomorrow. It is not just training—it is a movement,” said Aditya Babbar, Vice President, MX Business, Samsung India.

Shri Vishal V. Sharma noted the programme’s alignment with India’s National Education Policy and UNESCO’s global education goals. “By equipping teachers with digital tools, peer learning communities, and future-ready training, the programme reinforces India’s leadership in building a resilient and forward-thinking education system,” he said.

Shri Himanshu Gupta, Secretary, CBSE, added, “The future of work is set to transform significantly in the coming years, making it imperative for educators to be future-ready. Initiatives like Samsung Galaxy Empowered are helping teachers understand AI tools and apply them effectively.”

Educators across Mumbai can now participate in upcoming sessions and digital training under the initiative.
