Mumbai, December 19, 2025: PayU, a leading fintech platform, has advanced its corporate social responsibility (CSR) agenda in 2025 with a series of initiatives focused on digital safety, financial inclusion, and sustainable livelihoods. Aligned with India’s digitisation and inclusion priorities, the programmes have benefited over 50,000 rural beneficiaries, more than 140 women across select villages in Maharashtra, and around 450 students and educators nationwide since 2024.

To implement these initiatives, PayU partnered with organisations including Data Security Council of India, NeevJivan NGO, and Teach for India.

Richa Mukherjee, Senior Director – Corporate Affairs and Public Policy, PayU, said, “PayU's commitment to social impact goes beyond financial inclusion – we're building digitally safe and economically empowered communities from the ground up. These programs represent our belief that technology and entrepreneurship can transform lives. When we see rural students mastering cybersecurity concepts or women launching sustainable businesses, we're creating lasting change that supports the Digital India mission.”

As part of its digital safety efforts, PayU collaborated with the Data Security Council of India under the Cyber for Youth Programme to deliver cybersecurity education in rural Karnataka. The programme covered topics such as cyberbullying prevention, social media safety, and digital payment fraud awareness through interactive activities conducted in local languages. Pre- and post-assessments indicated knowledge improvement ranging from 62.5% to 82.3% among participating students.

In Maharashtra, PayU partnered with NeevJivan NGO to implement its Model Village Programme aimed at empowering women through sustainable livelihood opportunities. The initiative supported activities such as beekeeping, mushroom farming, poultry farming, and vermicomposting across Nashik, Dahanu, and Jawhar. Participants received 30–45 days of entrepreneurship training along with branding support for products including honey and mushrooms. The programme resulted in the establishment of 14 livelihood projects, enabling participating households to access additional income sources.

PayU also strengthened its education-focused engagement through a partnership with Teach for India, under which senior leaders mentored over 450 students and educators. The sessions focused on technology, entrepreneurship, and career development, reinforcing the company’s emphasis on leadership-driven social impact.

These initiatives build on PayU’s earlier CSR programmes, including a Village Adoption Programme under the Reserve Bank of India framework that promoted digital payment literacy among 5,000 beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh, and a Digital Vans initiative delivered in partnership with MeitY’s Common Service Centres, which reached over 50,000 citizens in remote areas around Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Gurugram.

Through its sustained CSR efforts, PayU continues to focus on bridging the digital divide and supporting inclusive, community-led development across India.
