Mumbai, December 22, 2025: PayU has advanced its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda in 2025 through a series of initiatives focused on digital safety, financial inclusion, and sustainable livelihoods. The company’s programmes have directly benefited over 50,000 rural beneficiaries, more than 140 women across villages in Maharashtra, and around 450 students and educators across India since 2024.

As part of its efforts to bridge the digital divide, PayU partnered with organisations including the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) and NeevJivan NGO to deliver targeted interventions aligned with India’s digitisation and financial inclusion priorities.

Under the Cyber for Youth Programme, implemented in partnership with DSCI, PayU conducted cybersecurity awareness sessions in rural Karnataka. These sessions used interactive quizzes, poster competitions, and live demonstrations in local languages to address issues such as cyberbullying prevention, social media safety, and digital payment fraud. According to assessments conducted before and after the sessions, participating students showed knowledge improvements ranging from 62.5% to 82.3% across different schools.

Commenting on the initiatives, Richa Mukherjee, Senior Director – Corporate Affairs and Public Policy, PayU, said, “PayU's commitment to social impact goes beyond financial inclusion – we're building digitally safe and economically empowered communities from the ground up. These programs represent our belief that technology and entrepreneurship can transform lives. When we see rural students mastering cybersecurity concepts or women launching sustainable businesses, we're creating lasting change that supports the Digital India mission.”

PayU has also focused on women’s economic empowerment through its Model Village Programme, implemented with NeevJivan NGO in the Nashik, Dahanu, and Jawhar regions of Maharashtra. The programme introduced sustainable livelihood activities such as beekeeping, mushroom farming, poultry farming, and vermicomposting. Participants received 30–45 days of entrepreneurship training along with branding support, resulting in the establishment of 14 livelihood projects and new income opportunities for participating households.

In addition, PayU strengthened its education-focused CSR efforts through a partnership with Teach for India. Senior leaders from the company engaged with over 450 students and educators through mentorship sessions, sharing insights on technology, entrepreneurship, and career development.

These initiatives build on PayU’s earlier CSR programmes, including the Village Adoption Programme under the Reserve Bank of India framework, which promoted digital payment literacy among 5,000 beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh, and the Digital Vans initiative in partnership with Common Services Centres under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, which delivered financial and digital literacy training to more than 50,000 citizens in multiple regions.
