Tamil Nadu, August 26, 2025: Payir Trust, in partnership with Amagi Media Labs Ltd., has launched Aarvam, a new science exploratorium designed to nurture scientific curiosity and creativity among children from underserved communities.
Located in Thenur village in Trichy district, Aarvam spans two acres and is expected to benefit over 3,000 children annually from government and low-income schools across more than 20 villages. The facility provides an immersive, hands-on learning experience aligned with the Tamil Nadu State Board (Samacheer Kalvi) curriculum, offering students 80 hours of experiential learning during the academic year.
Senthil Kumar Gopalan, Founder of Payir, said, “Curiosity is at the heart of all learning, and with Aarvam, we are creating a space where children can wonder, explore, and grow. This is just the beginning of our endeavour to redefine what education can look like in rural India.”
Baskar Subramanian, Managing Director and CEO of Amagi, added, “At Amagi, Goodness Wins is our way of showing up for the world. Aarvam reflects that belief, and this exploratorium was made possible because of the philanthropic endeavour of Amagi employees. We are proud to partner with Payir to help nurture curiosity in children and create this space where joyful learning can thrive.”
The Aarvam curriculum integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics (STEAM), and Humanities, with dedicated labs for Earth Sciences, Space, Maker Labs, and Ecology, as well as arts and mathematics. The space has been designed with sustainability in mind, following principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle to create cost-effective and context-sensitive infrastructure.
Through this initiative, Payir Trust and Amagi aim to provide rural children with access to high-quality, experiential education that encourages creativity and problem-solving, while fostering an inclusive and sustainable learning environment.
