Thanks to partnerships like this with Nippon Paint, we can offer our students not only academic skills but also exposure to professional opportunities and the chance to break the cycle of poverty. This association will impact not just the children but the entire community, promoting awareness, sensitisation, and the understanding of rights and duties as model citizens."
According to Nippon India officials, the collaboration builds upon Nippon Paint India's existing CSR initiatives, such as the "Rangon Ke Badshah" campaign, which has supported over 10,000 garage painters through skill development and educational grants. Founded in 2007, Pragati Wheel School aims at combating child labour and providing quality education to children facing challenges in urban settings.
It started functioning from a cow shelter on the local farm in the year 2007, with children from the families of agricultural labourers /farmers growing vegetables and working in nurseries being the main beneficiaries. Today the school provides basic education to over 250 children.
