New Delhi, February 11, 2026: Newgen Software has announced a strategic CSR partnership with Computer Shiksha to scale computer literacy among school-going children in aspirational districts, rural interiors, and remote regions across India.
The initiative aligns with Newgen’s CSR focus on technology-led empowerment and aims to make digital education more accessible. By the end of the third quarter of the current financial year, the programme has reached over 1.5 lakh students, with plans to expand further by year-end.
“Newgen is proud to partner with Computer Shiksha to scale the mission of bringing computer literacy to the nooks and corners of the nation. This partnership strongly aligns with our CSR goal of making digital education accessible to all. By the third quarter, we have reached over 1.5 lakh students and aim to expand this further by the end of the financial year,” said Ms. Priyadarshini Nigam, Whole-time Director and Head of CSR, Newgen.
Newgen’s CSR efforts have focused on bridging the digital divide through its flagship initiative, Newgen Digital Discovery Paathshala (NDDP), which supports foundational digital skills and access to technology for students from underserved communities.
In FY 2024–25, the partnership with Computer Shiksha benefited over 1 lakh students across more than 300 schools, particularly in aspirational districts and interior regions. Building on this, FY 2025–26 will see further expansion, with a target to reach approximately 3 lakh students, including 1,000 specially abled children, across 1,000 schools nationwide.
The programme will extend to locations such as Kargil, Mau, Barauli, Mandi, Kannauj, Naya Gaon, Nashik, Rabung Khawzawl, Siwan, and Ramnagar, among others.
“Computer Shiksha, with Newgen Software’s CSR support, is advancing inclusive education by setting up computer labs in seven special schools this year, empowering differently abled students to enter the digital world with confidence. This is a key milestone for us. The broader Computer Literacy Programme under this partnership is already reaching 824 schools and 2.42 lakh underserved students. Extending world-class computer literacy programmes to rural, remote, and border areas is essential to truly bridging the digital divide,” said Dr. Rakesh Suri, Founder, Computer Shiksha.
Through this collaboration, Newgen and Computer Shiksha aim to strengthen digital foundations in underserved communities and improve access to computer education across diverse geographies.
