Wardha, Apr 9, 2025: Nayara Energy, a new-age downstream company of international scale, launched a ground-breaking initiative called ‘Project Smart Shala’ in collaboration with Sampark Foundation. This project aims to enhance 350 government primary schools in Wardha district by turning them into technology-enabled Smart Schools over the next three years thereby benefiting around 14,000 students. The initiative was launched by Hon. Dr. Shri Pankaj Bhoyar, Minister of State for Home (Rural, Housing, School Education, Co-operation, and Mining) and Guardian Minister of Wardha District.
The launch event featured a demonstration of the digital module of the Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) curriculum, it also included the distribution of 15 LED TVs and Sampark devices, which were presented to the principals of more than 100 government primary schools.
The Smart Shala initiative focuses on enhancing education in government primary schools across Wardha, Deoli, Seloo, and Arvi blocks by incorporating technology into 350 schools. This includes the installation of LED TVs and Teach Easy Kits. The project leverages a Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) module, combining affordable tech solutions with multi-grade teaching methods. Additionally, it trains teachers in effective, technology-based teaching practices and implements comprehensive monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure the program’s educational success.
The Government of Maharashtra is implementing the Smart School Project across the state to modernize education in Zilla Parishad schools. In line with this, the launch of ‘Project Smart Shala’ in Wardha, is a significant step toward improving the quality of education by integrating modern technology into classrooms. The Government of Maharashtra remains committed to expanding the use of technology in education, ensuring that students have access to contemporary learning tools and opportunities.
By leveraging technology, the project ensures that every child has access to modern learning tools and quality educational opportunities. Through such initiatives, Nayara Energy aims to create a brighter future for the communities in which it operates.
As a part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, Nayara Energy is aiming at enhancing the quality of education by integrating innovative digital learning solutions into rural schools, enhancing their teaching and learning experience in the district.
The launch took place at the Collectorate office, Wardha, Nayara Energy's team, was present at the event. Alongside representatives from the district administration, Narendra Fulzele, Additional Collector of Wardha, also attended. The gathering featured several distinguished officials, including Vanmathi C, IAS, District Magistrate & Collector of Wardha; Jithin Rahman, IAS, Zilla Parishad, Wardha; and Nitu Gawande, District Education Officer (DEO) for Primary Education, Zilla Parishad, Wardha.
