Building a sustainable future: Crompton transitions to energy efficient fans to reduce electricity consumption

Mumbai, March 1, 2023: Leading electrical company Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals has led the compliance of new Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) norms with switching its entire ceiling fan range to energy-efficient star-rated fans, beginning 2023.

With the move, Crompton has aligned itself with the Government’s vision of achieving its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), reiterating its commitment to energy efficiency.

The company detailed out its product portfolio, technological prowess, distribution strategy and communication plan that supports this massive transition at an informative media roundtable event held in Mumbai on March 1.

The ceiling fan is one of the most used appliances across Indian households, contributing around 15% to the overall electricity bill per household. Given the indispensable daily use of ceiling fans, any improvement in their energy efficiency is bound to have a big impact on overall electricity consumption.

Crompton has dominated the ceiling fan industry with a leading market share and with its energy efficient ceiling fan portfolio, it is well-placed to lead the massive transformation and continue to build focus on energy conservation in the country.

The company’s has taken several steps to ensure the crucial transition towards the energy efficient ceiling fan portfolio.

According to the company, it introduced more than 300 energy efficient star rated ceiling fans, which involved process transformation across all its 9 different production plants. The company also conducted more than 2500 air delivery tests across fan portfolio test before sending the products out in the market.  

In addition to this, the company has also revealed a new TVC titled “Bachat ab sabke budget mein” to educate the consumers and highlight how it products are are both affordable and energy-efficient.
