New Delhi, December 29, 2025: Advanced Micro Devices (Advanced Micro Devices) has supported more than 150,000 students across India over the past financial year through a range of STEM education and workforce development initiatives aimed at improving access to technology education and employability, particularly in underserved communities.

As part of its school-level interventions, AMD implemented STEM projects in over 500 government schools across Delhi NCR, Karnataka and Telangana. Of these, 55 schools were equipped with dedicated STEM laboratories, while seven mobile science labs delivered hands-on learning experiences to more than 20,000 students in remote areas. In addition, seven community science centres were established, benefiting around 6,000 students from 27 government schools by providing shared spaces for collaborative learning.

The programmes focused on building curiosity and confidence in technology, with students gaining exposure to electronics, robotics and AI-ML tools to develop foundational skills in automation and applied science.

“AMD is honored to give back to the communities where we live and work,” said Jaya Jagadish, Country Head & SVP Design Engineering, AMD India. “For us, supporting STEM education is essential to building a more equitable society one where every young person has the opportunity to learn, innovate, and shape the future. Our commitment goes beyond funding programs. Our employees actively contribute through volunteering, mentoring, and hands-on engagement, helping create meaningful and lasting impact. AMDers bring a deep sense of social responsibility, reflecting a culture where giving back is not just encouraged, but is fundamental to who we are.”

To strengthen digital literacy, AMD also set up digital education centres in nine government schools and one urban slum in Hyderabad, and introduced digital learning classes in seven schools in Karnataka. These centres provide structured exposure to basic computer skills and technology-enabled learning.

Alongside school education, AMD invested in workforce development to address employability gaps. The company established six workforce training initiatives, including two IT and IT-enabled services skill development centres in Bengaluru and Delhi, which trained over 2,400 individuals. Additionally, 450 students from four Industrial Training Institutes in Delhi received specialised training in Electronics System Design and Manufacturing, with more than 40 percent securing employment during the project period.

In Karnataka’s Davanagere district, AMD partnered with local authorities to set up 21 digital classrooms in government-run pre-university colleges, enabling over 6,500 students, particularly girls, to access high-quality Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) coaching within their communities.

AMD also extended CSR support to deep-tech startup AAGYAVISION in partnership with the Foundation for Science Innovation and Development at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, to strengthen India’s semiconductor innovation ecosystem and promote AI-driven radar solutions for civilian security.

Employee volunteering formed a key pillar of AMD’s community engagement. During 2025, more than 1,800 employees participated in initiatives related to education, sustainability, disaster relief and health, contributing activities such as meal packing, blood donation, tree plantation and the assembly of solar lamps for rural and flood-affected communities.

According to the company, these initiatives reflect a sustained approach to social investment, combining partnerships with NGOs, employee participation and a focus on digital equity to support inclusive growth and long-term community development in India.
