State Resource Centre for Adult Education, West Bengal is providing academic resource support to the State of West Bengal and Sikkim for implementing literacy programme with cent percent financial support from Govt. of India. , The major activities of State Resource Centre as follows: , (i)Preparing Teaching Learning and training materials for non and neo literates and for literacy functionaries respectively. , (ii)Training, orientation to the functionaries. , (iii) Conducting Research, Evaluative study on the relevant issues. , (iv) Conducting monitoring to assess the progress of the programme. , (v) Conducting Innovative Activities at micro level. , State Resource Centre, West Bengal received UNESCO, NLM award in 2006 and Saakshar Bharat National Literacy Award in 2015 as best supporting organisation.
