Special features of the organization

The association started functioning with effect from 16/02/1979 as a duly authorised organisation of St. john Ambulance Association New Delhi. It has been providing services to the masses since its inception. The Association is running a Nursing home of 20 bed capacity for the treatment of eye ailments beside running a OPD centre for eye check-up. During the past 40 years the association has done nearly 25000 free and approximately 5000 paid eye operations. More than 120000 cases of eye ailments have been treated in the OPD of the centre. The Association has also been providing training to students under the different courses like First-Aid, Mother Craft and Child welfare, Hygiene & sanitation as well as Home Nursing. The number of such students is more than 50000. Our trainees are serving in various nursing homes in the states. , , Ambulance services was operative in the recent past. Services of Mobile Medical Vans and supply of Milk to the infants and pregnant mothers were also operative in the past but those services have been discontinued due to lack of funds. The association got it registered with the Registrar of Firms, Societies & Non trading Corporation of West Bengal on 19/04/2013. The Association has been extending financial assistance to the students of 23 Schools of Ranaghat since 2010. A sum of Rs. 2289058/- has been disbursed to 650 students till date. Coaching classes for the meritorious and financially backward students have been started from the month of Jan 2017. Need based first-aid camps are established by the association at various points in Ranaghat at various melas & sports grounds and also during Dugapaja and other festivals.
