Shyambazar Anyadesh is the only theatre group working with the sightless artists in the country at present. We have conducted theatre workshops with physically challenged as well as marginal youth and children in many districts of West Bengal in order to develop their physical and intellectual development by applying the principles of drama therapy. We have produced the following plays: (1) Jakhan Andha Prakriti Chandalika, (2) Raktakarabi, (3) Banglar Brata (these 3 plays are based on works of Tagore), (4) Eodipus At Colonus, (5) Kaliyodaman, (6) Jananir Desh (the last 2 plays are directed by Sri Subhash Dey, the first and foremost vissually challenged director in the country). besides that we are engaged in publishing theatre magazines etc.
