Special features of the organization
Shilpi Sangha (Howrah) was conceptualized and formed as a Group Theatre in the year 1999 and got registration on 12 June 2000 under West Bengal Society Registration Act, 1961 with certain objectives which are as stated below :- , To study and demonstrate the art of drama. , , To focus social scenario of Indian society by dint of drama and to try bringing awareness among the people of certain sections of the society. , , To come forward to alleviate sick, helpless and indigent students and persons afflicted with serious illness, natural calamities like flood, cyclone (like Aiyala) etc. , Shilpi Sangha (Howrah) is a cluster of art-loving people from various parts and sections of our society to develop a good group theatre for social and cultural growth. , From the beginning this organization composed new Dramas almost every year and staged in different districts of West Bengal. Those dramas are the replica of social scenario. In most of our performances, we received huge applause and encouragement from different levels of people. We won several prizes and appreciations in number of competition shows. Above all we could achieve in penetrating into the mind of general people through our performances. , As for our humanitarian activities, we may mention that on several occasions we came out with our meagre means to help poor heart patient for medical treatment, flood-stricken people, Aiyala-affected villagers, donation to needy student, organizations like Ramakrishna Mission etc. , Shilpi Sangha (Howrah) has performed the following dramas till the year 2009 : , 1. Sajano Bagan 2. Narak Gulzar , 3. Gulsan , 4. Kamala Nihata , 5. Chhuti , 6. Tritio Purush , 7. Ak Nadite , 8. Dena Paona , , Above all, Shilpi Sangha (Howrah) believes in heart that theatre can build up better cultural ambience in the society.
