ACTIVITIES AND ACHEIVEMENTS , , SAPTAYAN, is one organisation which was established in the year 1970 (Registered in 1974) in order to provide a new platform to the budding and talented young generation in the fields of music, dance & dance-drama and promote artists, poets, dancers, musicians, singers and dramatists. Since then Saptayan has been regularly producing and presenting various musical and dance events and programmes which include Workshop cum Training, Seminar and Symposia in various districts of West Bengal as well as in other states. It has been training people for a brilliant career in the field of Music, Dance and other related subjects. , , The soil of Bengal has always been very rich for its cultural heritage. It has produced many artists, poets, lyricists, dancers, musicians, singers and dramatists, who have been the inspiration of new generation. In spite, most of the young talents often remain unrecognized and unknown in the absence of a common and organized platform. , , Saptayan has performed various productions and programmes in All India Radio, Kolkata as well as in Doordarshan, Kolkata (Prasar Bharati) since the year 1980 and it was affiliated to the Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. , , Saptayan is also having its various wings, where children and young people are being trained in various cultural activities, which includes a sizeable representation form backward communities like SC, ST, OBC, etc. , , Mission , , To preserve and promote art in all its forms like Music, Dance, Dance Drama, Children & Youth Cultural Exchange with particular emphasize on the traditional and rich cultural heritage of Bengal. , , To give special attention to the development of cultural faculties in children and youth who are our hopes for the future. , , To search fresh talent and induct them in the fields of Dance, Dance Drama, Music, Children & Youth Cultural Exchange. , , To provide opportunities to amateur artists to develop an all around personality of Leadership and to display their talents at national and international levels. , , To bring the people of our land on a common platform of culture and arts and to form a common bond of love and understanding towards World Peace! , , To participate in similar activities at national level to exchange and compare the notes. , , To participate in similar activities in foreign countries to present the aspects of our civilization and culture before them and to invite them to India for similar participation of them. , , To instill in our youth patriotism and yet a national outlook through travel and cultural exchange to promote the national integration amongst them. , , To provide opportunity towards education in human values among the teenagers through art in all its forms. , , For, Saptayan, excellence is not only the destination, its ambition and goal is to create awareness among society to keep and sustain cultural values and heritage of India and tradition alive. , The March is on!
