Our activities are concerning the promotion of theatrical arts through practice,i.e. to develop the skill of writing plays, designing prodution, acting, sound designing, e.t.c More over we are intended to develop a language of our theatre based on our national traditional performing art forms, which are facing a severe invasion of so called globalized culture now days to eradicate our national cultural identity. In that direction we involved our members to study and research on our local and national performing art forms. Side by side we are trying to utilise ingradients from those art forms in our stage plays and productions successfully, which could able to draw keen attention of theatre goers and scholars that marked our very special existance in the field of theatre in this part of iur country. All these activities are being conducted by our Chief Artistic Director Sri Asit Basu, one of the most revered name in our theatre movements. To achieve our goal we made our effort to render training to children, the future citizens, the art of the theatrical art under the guidance of Ms. Bhadra Basu, an important name and expert in the concerned field. As music is an special acumen of theatre, specially in our traditional theatre forms, we arranged rigorous training in vocal and instrumental music for our members, under the guidance of Ms. Anandee Basu Guha, our meber and a noted singer-actor of our state. , Furthermore, we set our members in a continuous process of speech and voice training and as well as in yoga and physical training methods, needed for performing theatre.Our aforesaid activities enabled us to come out as very imortant theatre group within only three years of time. In this three years we have produced two important stage plays SHIBER GAJON and JAAN- E- KALKATTA, which became already talk of the town,and running in packed house, after ten performances. Our work drew attention of theatre lovers to stretch their hands to help us in many ways. Rigtht now we are rehearsing a new play on the impact of Sri Ramakrishna-Philosophy on human society in contemporary time. This is an ambitious magnum project that won the hearts of a full-house audience in its first reading session only. Beside all mentioned above a considerable number of established musicians came closer to us to extend the fraternity bondage among Thespians and Musicians. Visual part of our productions not only appriciated by but brought closer to us many a painter and sculptors. We also produced the popular strret-Play PRATIRODH having 37 shows in two months.
