We are seriously involved in imparting training in Kathak and encouraging creativity under the supervision of its Director, Smt Chetna Jalan who is a renowned Kathak exponent. The teaching facility of Padatik Dance Centre is affiliated to Nalanda Dance Research Centre (Mumbai) which runs a diploma course at the centre. The legendary Kathak maestro Pt. Birju Maharaj has been associated with Padatik Dance Centre from 1998 and since then he has been grooming our students by conducting workshops. , The centre has its own music recording studio. Some of its best productions can be mentioned as milestones of Padatik Dance Centre . Ramkatha Ramkahani, Ardhashati,Kshudito Pashan,Shrishti, apart from many other productions like Ullas, Vishad,Mand,Swa Chhand,Aboni Bari Aachho,Sufi Experience , Padatik Dance Centre is supported by a regular grant for salary from the Department of Culture, Government of India. It also receives grants from the Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi. , Padatik Dance Centre has been invited to many major festivals like the Imphal Mahotsav by Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi, Kathak Mahotsav by Kathak Kendra, New Delhi, Khajuraho Festival, Taj Festival. , Padatik Dance Centre has also given shows abroad. Through ICCR, Padatik Dance Centre director Chetna Jalan along with her Kathak troupe was invited to perform a full length show at the prestigious Kuopio Dance Festival in Finland held in 1989 at Kuopio. They performed in Kuopio, Lappenranta and Helsinki. Later the troupe performed at Oslo (Norway). Finally Chetna Jalan gave a solo performance in Birmingham (UK) and West Berlin. Later, Padatik Dance Centre troupe was also invited to perform at Seol, Korea, Hongkong and Bangkok. , Padatik Dance Centre can boast that in 1984 it organized Kathak Mahotsav to explore the Contemporary Kathak scenario at the national level. , , Padatik Dance Centre has been approved as the Accredited Centre of Kathak Kendra, New Delhi from May 09 at Kolkata and Gurgaon.
