Special features of the organization
Padatik Cultural Centre has presented and has been involved in various unique activities to upgrade and promote dance theatre. It also presented different programmes of other dance forms at our own Padatik Cultural Centre Auditorium and elsewhere. It presented its programmes at various venues in Kolkata and other cities too. , , April 2013 to June 2013 , We have carried forward our production Mukta Mon from last year. It bears a vital message of Tagore, the man, rarest of rare who has sought freedom of the human heart so passionately that his free spirit as a liberated human mind ever enriched our heart. , This year Mukta Mon was staged on 5th May 2013 at our auditorium. , On 30th June 2013, we had staged our new production Some Dots . , , On 2013 Khudito Pashan had staged in Satayajit Ray auditorium Kolkata. It is the form of a truly lavish musical which has been performed all over India as part of prominent festivals, cooperative events, etc. This enigmatic story was first brought to the silver screen as a Bengali movie and then as Lekin by Gulzar, starring Vinod Khanna & Dimple Kapadia. , October 2013 to December 2013 , On 14th December 2013, Padatik Cultural Centre presented two dance pieces Flight of Birds and Scarlett of Love organised by West Bengal State Music Academy at Uday Shankar Dance Festival at Rabindra Sadan Auditorium, Kolkata. , Flight of Birds , a musical piece of 20 minutes duration is a story of a family of birds; father, mother and their four children. Changes of their lives are depicted with the changing of seasons like spring, summer, autumn and winter. It is choreographed by Dietmar Seyffert of Germany and its music is given by Pt. Vijai Shankar. The innovative choreography has been recently revived and it features different dance movements of Kathak, Chhau and Ballet. , Our new production, Scarlett of Love whose music was given by Mr. Mayukh Bhowmick explores the mystery of love. Mr. Mayukh Bhowmick is a renowned , composer for experimental films as well as music compositions. He has been commissioned to work on a music piece which is appealing to our present day audience yet keeping our tradition alive. The Repertory dancers worked hard for this fusion piece taking out each note in the music with subtle movements. , January 2014 to March 2014 , Two new most important productions of PCC this year include Angvinyasam and Ityalam presented on 29thJanuary 2014 at Kamani Auditorium, New Delhi. It was presented by our North-east students. All our north-east dancers are excellently trained in Ballet and Classical Jazz Techniques. They have also been trained in Kathak by Chetna Jalan since the last 4 years.
