The troupe Naye Natua is laden with as many as 30 young talented actors including casual and regular who are working tirelessly throughout the year. , , Naye Natua, a new fledged theatre troupe of Kolkata aspires to take its flight with many ambitious productions ranging from fairy tales to the modern immortal fictions of Bengal and India at large. Geared with a determination to explore the untrodden region of Indian Theatre with newer perceptions of our Time and Space, Naye Natua sets forth with a batch of real fresher guided by the able veterans to stage its performances. The troupe has already performed and wholeheartedly praised by connoisseurs in Kolkata, West Bengal, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Assam, Hyderabad, Toronto and many other places. , Presently Naye Natua is performing Michael Madhusudan Dutt s Meghnad Bodh Kabya , Famous Indian story writer Premchand s Bare Bhai Sahab as Borda Borda along with contemporary theatre like Missed Call written by Debshankar Halder. The themes encompass varied subjects from modern social tribulations to deep rooted family values, epic and undying pain. , Under the direction of our house director Goutam Halder we can produce three new productions this year. We have great interest in producing theatre for children too. , New productions: This year the troupe has decided to stage three productions under the direction of our house director Goutam Halder. Extensive discussions are going on regarding Bengali author Shirshendu Mukherjee s Jaal, Amake Dekhun, Jama Kharoch; Rabindranath Tagore s poems like Horikhela,Dui Pakhi; play Baikunther Khata etc. We have started planning regarding a musical production emerging from poems. A theatrical performance suffused with the poetry as text of theatre, and of acting with idioms of movement, dance, songs and music in short, a production with coexistence of physicality, visuality and musicality. We are in search of a new performance style of theatre which is far from conventional forms of theatre; a theatre with the vibrant presence of actors with great potential for dance and music. The text will be a composite a bunch of lyrics in a composite bouquet chosen from popular folk songs, poems from Rabindranath Tagore, Satyajit Ray, Joy Goswami, Satyendranath Dutta, Buddhadeb Basu, Shakti Chottopadhyay, Premendra Mitra and others. The participants of the in-house training programme will be included in these productions. , The troupe is organizing workshops in association with other organizations like Minerva, Anyo theatre, Jadavpur University, Cultivation of Science, Happenings, Canada Bengali Club and many others. These workshops encompass all aspects regarding in-depth study and intense theatre training. Exploration of new theatre language for enriching the style of production along with the meaningful application of other allied art forms and its vitality and viability in present day situation.
