Kala Kushali was founded on 9th March 1981 with some young educated theatre lovers who were always animated about Social ,Economic and political situation prevalent at that point of time. They were also conscious about the history of Bengali Theatre World whereby, many past Theatre personalities enriched Bengali Theatre. They step by step entered on their mission to promote Bengali Theatre under the leadership and guidance of Sri Sibaji Gupta, nephew of famous Dramatist, Director, & Actor Sri Mahendra Gupta. For promotion of the Bengali Theatre, they started performing plays from classical to modern dramas and gained a lot of accomplishment and as well as support from various sections of people. During this long journey of 35 years, they presented and performed 14 plays all were categorically novel respecting Nation s rich taste and tradition viz. RATER ATITHI, NAYA PATHSHALA,ATATAYI,PARABAS,HARIKATH,BATUR JIBANE PISTOL O REVOLVER,JAYSA KA TYASA,MAHANISHA,MUKHOMUKHI,TIKTIKI,SAHASA,DARPAN,JANAYIKA & latest staged ICHCHA PATRA. , , In the year 1983 the drama NAYA PATHSHALA was awarded as Best Production by All India Drama Competition organized at Bata Nagar Sports Club. The same drama also won awards in the category of Best Director, Best Actress and Best Actor. , , Kala Kushali organized a drama festival in association of Ajitesh Natya Academy in the year 1987. , A yearly Theatre Magazine named as KALA KUSHALI NATYA PATRIKA is being regularly published in every Sharadiya Mahalaya. The writings of reputed and famous Theatre personalities are being published therein. And Every year on 9th March they organize the Foundation day of the Group and publish SMARAK PATRIKA Magazine which specifically provides an opportunity to its readers to know about their past and present cultural activities. , Kalakushali registered under Society Registration Act, 1961 has been performing its legal obligation and are always bound to follow necessary statutory compliances under the said Act.
