Post Graduate Education in Social Work & Psychological Counselling under Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, Identified as Research, Monitoring & Evaluation Organization in the field of Women & Child Development, Rural Development etc. by Government of India and Government of West Bengal, Expertise in Training on Social Legislation, Social Defence, Child Protection, HIV/AIDS etc.Long experience in Social Intervention Programme like Managing Shelter, Providing Counselling, Organizing Vocational Training & Facilitating Re-integration of the socially excluded people. The Institute is engaged in organizing Anti-Trafficking Activities in Source Areas in partnership with Save the Children the Institute also works in partnership with the Central & State Government, UNICEF, Iris Aid, Oxfam GB, USAID, DFID, CHILDLINE India Foundation etc. The Institute participated in devising Policy Frame for the State on Juvenile Justice Issues, Human trafficking, Ageing, Child Marriage etc. The Institute is member of the Central Advisory Committee on combating trafficking of Women & Children and Child Prostitution and Convener of Non-Official Advisory Board on Trafficking to the State Level. The Institute as a Member of the Task Force played a key role to prepare and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for Repatriation of Children of Bangladeshi Origin. The Institute conducted Research and Survey Work on various social problems like Women in prison, women vendors, dowry, child marriage, Women in Un-organized Sector, Child Protection, Age Care and various facets of Violence against Women etc. under the auspices of the Department ofWomen and Child Development, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, UNICEF, ICSSR, NISD etc. The Institute also conducted quite a few Evaluation and Action Research on various issues like Sericulture and Development, Rural Sanitation, Rural Development Programmes, Disaster Mitigation Programmes sponsored by the World Bank, Oxfam (India) Trust, Ministry of Rural Development, Save the Children, and many other Government and Non-Government Organizations. The Institute fucntioned as a Nodal Agency for Monitoring of the activities of NGOs funded by the CSWB, DWCD and MSJE. The Institute organizes Training and Capacity Building Activities for the functionaries of Government and Non-Government Social Development Organization mainly in areas of Child Development and Child Protection, Family Counselling, Juvenile Justice, Reporting and Documentation etc. The Institute has rich experience in the following fields of activities: Social Survey and Research, Quantitative and Qualitative Analysis including usage of PRA and case tools, Monitoring, Evaluation and Training, Public Consultation, Negotiation and Community Mobilization, Stakeholder Analysis, Liveliohoods Analysis, Capacity Building, Shelter, Counselling and Rehabilitation, Reporting and Documentation, Social Work Education (Masters Course under University) etc. The Institute works as a Nodal Agency for Monitoring and Evaluation in the Implementation of Schemes of Ministry of Women and Child Development, The Central Social Welfare Board, Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, UNICEF, NIPCCD etc. The Institute played Consultative role in Drafting of the State Rules of Major Legislations like Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2006, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006 and Maintenance & Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007.
