The Himalayan Adventure Institute , Kempty Falls Mussoorie ; established in 1995 is India s foremost Outdoor Education Centre and for the last eighteen yearsis offering people of all ages and walks of life a feast of adventures. The Institute has trained more than fifteen thousand youth and children in outdoor adventure education and trained three thousand plus Uttarakhand police , civillians, NGOs Home Guards , Fire personnel and NDRF personnel in Mountain search and Rescue and Disaster Response Training . In the recent Uttarakhand calamity ;these personnel because of their training were able to save many lives and livestock and came to rescue of and help those in distress. Disaster Management inputs in our training modules are essential in the present scenario to face unpredicted calamities like earthquake, Flood, Fire, Road-accidents etc. This training creates awareness amongst the students and improves their reaction capabilities in such eventualities , The Institute has worked in the field of Youth and Adolescent development and has partnered many other NGOs including the likes of National Association of Blind in promoting adventure sports , adventure tourism , outdoor education , leadership development skills, protection of Himalayan ecology and environment , preservation of Himalayan art and culture and dissemination of information. , Having the most talented and professional team, HAI is a leader in the field, offering numerous and varied courses, each of them giving participants invaluable Experiential Learning, that inculcates a positive and healthy attitude towards life. We have the facilities to counterpoise the patterns of the well-known Out Bound Schools of the world, emphasizing outdoor education with full safety precautions. Such learning is best done in a supportive natural environment that provides them an opportunity to confront challenges and develop leadership qualities and inculcate self-confidence, courage, self-reliance in a fun filled and educational environment. , The Institute has nurtured a Himalayan Heritage Center to help preserve the rare cultural traditions of the region through collection and display of arte-facts , education, training and and identifying and promoting historically and culturally significant practices, such as arts and crafts from the Himalayan region , The Institute periodically has trained local as well as other desirous youth from other places to pursue a serious career in Adventure tourism by running Adventure guide courses . By further organizing Marketing , business development , basic accounts and entrepreneurship development sessions for these youth ; the institute has helped many of them to start successful business ventures in adventure tour and travel . , To harness the potential and showcase how to channelize the energy of the youth the Institute has organized National competition for the Taekwon-Do Association of India(R) which is affiliated to International Taekwon-Do Federation and has organized State and All India level Sports Climbing competitions very successfully . , The Institute successfully runs an english medium school for the children from the nearby villages from kindergarten to grade 5 to inculcate in them the confidence as well as explore the joys of learning.
