About the organization

Special features of the organization

Centre Stage started its theatrical activities in 2009. It was founded with a group of experienced personnel in the field of Dance and Theatre and other cultural field like Music, Art, Mime and Movements, to create an environment in which children and young person can use drama to explore both the imaginative and the concrete world. Since then, Centre Stage has developed into a full performing arts centre and now offers creative programmes like drama, performance acting, musical theatre, dance theatre, music and art and craft for children of all ages, young and adults too! , , In 2011, Centre Stage has become as a Registered Organization (Regn. No. S/1L/80612 of 2011-12). , , Centre Stage has been engaged, along with regular Intensive Theatre Training Programme (In-House Programme and Outsides Self and Collaboration Programme) for Children and Young persons. , i) Weekend Theatre Training Programme, , ii) Weekdays Theatre Training Programme, , iii) Summer Camp, , iv) Winter Camp, , v) Theatre with Children in formal school situation, , vi) Theatre with marginalized and variously challenged Children and Youth, , vii) Theatre with Youth, , viii) Organizing Theatre Festivals/Performances, , ix) Arranging collaborative Theatre Actions with Theatre troupes and individuals from various districts in West Bengal, and so on. , , Productions and Performances of In-house Productions like , (a) Haraye Khunji (Children s Friendly) for and by the Children. Playwright, Music and , Direction Nabanita Mukherjee Das and Swarup Das , (b) Prastab (based on Anton Chekhov s The Mrriage Proposal, adapted by Ajitesh , Bandopadhyay), Music and Direction by Swarup Das , So far last few years Centre Stage has been organized two Theatre Festivals , (a) Shishu-Kishore Natya Shandhya (An Evening with Children and Youth Plays) on 5th , October, 2013 with two plays. , In this evening Centre Stage presents HARAYE KHUNJI Drama & Direction Nabanita Mukherjee Das and Swarup Das and Naye Natua Presents BARDA BARDA based on Munshi Premchanda s Bade Bhai Sahab, Direction and Performance by Goutam Halder. , , (b) Deshio o Europeo Ekanko-Natya Shandhya (An Evening with Indinan & European One-Act , Plays) on 8th June, 2014 , In this evening Centre Stage Presents two plays , HARAYE KHUNJI, Drama & Direction Nabanita Mukherjee Das & Swarup Das and , PRASTAB, based on Anton Chekhov s The Marriage Proposal, Adaptation by Ajitesh Bandopadhyay, Music, D cor & Direction Swarup Das. , The aim of all Centre Stage programmes is to Unlock the Creative Potential in Us All.
