Balurghat Samabeta Natyakarmee

Balurghat Samabeta Natyakarmee, a drama unit-established on 20th July2006. First Production was ek-dui directed by Prodosh Mitra. Then two more productions were staged namely Sundar written by Mohit Chottopadhyay and directed by Prodosh Mitra and Nana Ranger Din written by Ajitesh Bandyopadhyay and directed by Deepak Rakshit. This Organization has rendered various social service. One of the services was to perform street drama in remote places of Dakshin Dinajpur district on behalf of Consumers Forum, Govt. of West Bengal to aware the people of rural areas. The most outstanding venture has been taken up by this organization is to celebrate Theater festival round the year. Balurghat Samabeta Natyakarmee has been celebrating Bacharbhar Natok ( Theater Festival round the year ) which is most unprecedent and unique venture in West Bengal. In every month since March 2012 reputed drama units of Kolkata like Chetana , Samstab Rangrup and of different drama units of West Bengal were invited to produce their plays. The Oraganization has felicitated Sangeet Natok Academy winner Sri Harimadhab Mukhopadhyay in 2008.Balurghat Samabeta Natyakarmee observes World Theater day(27th March) every year.This organization arranges lectures, seminars on drama and culture. One of the objectives of this organization is to revive and restore the folk culture of west Bengal. Balurghat Samabeta Natyakarmee has its program to open a library with books, research works on various plays and cultural programs in the District . Above all, the organization likes to maintain harmony and international understanding through drama and cultural activities.
