Programme Manager, Rural Creche Initiative

Over the past few years, the Foundation has been supporting the setting up and operation of Sishu Ghar, a decentralized community-based day-care centre where caregivers can leave children aged 7 months to 3 years while they go to work. The Shishu Ghar provides a safe and secure environment for children's overall growth and development through care, feeding, health promotion and early childhood development activities. Currently, this initiative is being implemented in Adivasi dominated areas of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Odisha.

We invite candidates who aspire to contribute to social change and resonate with the idea of creating lasting impact in the lives of marginalized and vulnerable communities. In this initiative, we support our partners by way of multi-year grants to set up and operate the Sishu Ghar.

Primary Responsibilities include

Grant Making:

  • Identify local organizations for partnership. Develop a relationship with other CSOs, Foundations and Multi-lateral agencies to create a pipeline of organizations.
  • Conduct scoping and programmatic due diligence of organizations.
  • Assist in the development and review of proposals to ensure that required information has been provided. Ensure that the story of the organisation comes through clearly.
  • Dialogue with the organization to understand the effects of their engagement.
  • Guide the organizations in budget preparation and support the finance team with budget review and financial due diligence where required.
  • Meaningfully engage with the organization through the entire lifecycle of a grant.

 

Program management

  • Identify ways to support the CSO in areas where they may require support e.g. compliance, accounting, MIS, training etc.
  • Regular field visits and meetings with the CSO, Foundation field team members and community to understand the challenges, facilitate problem-solving solving and learn.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of the guidelines, including technical specifications, user manuals, and project documentation. Ensure proper version control and knowledge transfer to enable sustainability and improvements.
  • Communication and Reporting:
  • Communicate progress, achievements, challenges, and recommendations to the CSO's management and stakeholders regularly. Prepare reports and presentations to showcase the impact and share key learnings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Should have made significant and long-lasting contributions in their area of work.
  • High level of self-motivation, initiative, and creativity.
  • Willingness to travel extensively for work.
  • Substantial knowledge of organisational and project management.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, and solve problems independently or collaboratively as needed.
