The Content Writer should create engaging written material, primarily edited volumes of lesson learnt from various projects for academic publishing. S/he should also be adept at creating blog posts, articles, social media posts, etc., reflecting NCIS' brand voice. Here are some duties and responsibilities for a Content Writer:

• Researching and writing high-quality content for edited volume of lesson learnt in each NCIS project.
• Collaborating with external vendors such as proofreader, designers etc. to align content with the organization’s brand.
• Ensuring the content meets high standards of writing and editing by rewriting for where necessary.  Reviewing, editing, and proofreading content to make it coherent, both for experts as well as the general reader.

• About 2-3 years of experience in content writing and content editing with a reputed publication or similar organization
• A master’s degree in environmental sciences or allied fields.
• Ability to develop content with initial input from project leads.
• Previous experience working for an academic publisher preferred.
• Understanding of publishing industry and processes.
• Experience in overseeing book publication process.
• Experience of working with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
• Some experience with designing software such as InDesign or Canva is desired.
• Since the role involves creating content that may be disseminated digitally, knowledge of digital publishing  standards and SEO best practices could be beneficial.
• The role requires collaboration with different teams and overseeing the publication process, hence some project management skills are desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills since you will be liaising with a variety of stakeholders in senior positions.
• Experience in developing and executing content strategies could be a plus, aligning the content with broader  organizational goals.
• Good overall knowledge of Conservation and Environmental Issues that NCIS focuses on.
• The job may require flexibility in terms of rapidly changing priorities or project needs.
• Familiarity with legal aspects of content publication, including copyright laws and content licensing.  Consultancy Duration and Fees: 
• The position offers six months’ consultancy effective from the date of joining. The extension of this consultancy shall be subject to the requirement, fund availability and mutual agreement. The travel and communication expenses shall be reimbursed based on actuals within the limit prescribed in the organisational policy (if applicable).
