Jodhpur, June 30, 2025: Swaraj Tractors, a division of the Mahindra Group, has been honored with the Bhamashah Award by the Government of Rajasthan in recognition of its community development initiatives during FY 2024-25. The award acknowledges the Division's work in improving government schools in the Jodhpur district, particularly through the installation of rooftop rainwater harvesting systems and provision of teaching-learning materials.

The initiative was implemented in partnership with Sarv Mangal Gramin Vikas Sansthan and focused on sustainable development in rural Rajasthan, especially addressing long-standing challenges such as water scarcity and fluoride contamination. The program has spanned 78 villages, 20 blocks, and 8 districts, aiming to enhance access to clean drinking water for communities and livestock, and support irrigation needs for agriculture.

As part of the initiative, 18 traditional water bodies have been renovated, generating nearly 3.72 million cubic metres of water. Rainwater harvesting systems have been installed in 57 government schools, contributing an additional 5.7 million litres of clean water for students.

These efforts have reportedly benefitted over 48,000 people, around 37,000 livestock, and more than 3,000 hectares of farmland, contributing to improvements in health, education, and local agriculture.

The Bhamashah Award recognizes the Division’s commitment to long-term rural development through sustainability-driven and socially responsible programs. The recognition reinforces Swaraj’s focus on building resilient and self-reliant rural communities across India.
