Ahmedabad, December 15, 2023: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Gujarat, marking a significant investment of INR 3000 Crore. The announcement comes just weeks before the 10th edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit scheduled from January 10th to 12th next year.
The MoU outlines HCCB’s plans to establish a state-of-the-art facility for Juice and Aerated Beverages in Rajkot, projected to commence in 2026. This venture, in addition to HCCB's existing facilities in Goblej and Sanand, emphasizes the company's substantial presence in Gujarat, with a proposed increase in total employee strength to over 1,500 individuals. The investment aims to create an industrial footprint, contributing to economic and social growth in the region.
HCCB's commitment aligns with the state's policies and regulations, with the Government of Gujarat pledging comprehensive support to expedite necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, and clearances. HCCB's existing facilities in Goblej and Sanand have played a pivotal role in Gujarat's socio-economic fabric.
Beyond its industrial commitments, HCCB, in collaboration with the Y4D Foundation, is set to launch impactful initiatives across 11 villages in Gujarat. These initiatives focus on education enhancement, clean water access, community health improvement, agricultural training, community information access, and digital and financial literacy for women. Additionally, the company aims to enhance the employability of 5000 youths in sales and marketing in partnership with Kaushalya University.
Mr Himanshu Priyadarshi, Chief Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability Officer at HCCB, stated: “This MoU is a milestone in our journey with Gujarat, which has been enriched with mutual growth and trust over the last 27 years. Our investment in Rajkot is a testament to our belief in Gujarat's potential and our commitment to its people. It is not only about scaling our business operations but also about deepening our roots in a state that has been a key market and a source of inspiration for innovation. We foresee this project as a catalyst for regional development, bringing in new opportunities for local talent and reinforcing our commitment to Gujarat’s economic and social progress.”
The MoU underscores HCCB's dedication to Gujarat and reflects the state government’s efforts in promoting industrial growth and community development. As Gujarat continues to attract major investments, this partnership with HCCB highlights the state's position as a leading destination for business and social progress.
