New Delhi, December 28, 2023:Ambuja Foundation and HDFC Bank Parivartan have collaborated to establish a skill training centre in Delhi NCR under the Focused Rural Development Program (FRDP). The initiative aims to address the evident skill gap in the dynamic and rapidly growing Delhi National Capital Region (NCR) by providing employable skills to 1700 youth over the next 3 years.
The training programs will focus on key areas, including Phlebotomist, Future Skills (Python & ML+AI/DS), Industrial Electrician/RACW Service Engineer, and Advanced Beauty Training. The goal is to equip the local youth with the necessary skills required by industries, bridging the gap between workforce capabilities and market demands.
Ambuja Foundation, along with HDFC Bank Parivartan, will oversee training, curriculum development, and supervision. Additionally, outreach events will be conducted to engage with families and young individuals, educating them about potential career paths in the skilled job market. The project team will offer counseling and career guidance to assist the youth in making informed decisions for a secure future.
Speaking about the project, Pearl Tiwari, CEO, Ambuja Foundation said, “As per the Global Skills Gap Report, the Indian workforce reported the second highest skill gap in the world. With rising demand for skilled workforce coming from across the sectors, it is vital to bridge the skill gap to prepare job ready youth. We have addressed the several key issues including the skill gap in partnership with HDFC. With this partnership, we look forward to continuing to make positive impacts on the lives of more and more youth of the country.”
Furthermore, the collaboration aims to facilitate job placements for graduates through a network of industry partnerships, ensuring a seamless transition from training to the workforce. This joint effort seeks to enhance the socio-economic conditions of the local population by providing practical skills and sustainable career opportunities.
