New Delhi, 31 January 2021: The erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, which has been witnessing social turmoil and conflicts between separatist elements and security forces, has also lost corporate interest for CSR activities in the region.  This reflects in the CSR spent in the region coming down in the period of 2014-19 when the national average of CSR spent increased by more than 85 per cent.

The region known for its heavenly beauty, hot tourist spots and behavioural warmth of its people, seems to have paid the price for frequent clashes in the Kashmir valley and a volatile business environment over past several years.
