Mumbai, January 09, 2024: Capri Global Capital Ltd., a non-banking financial company, has allocated INR 392 Lakhs for its CSR initiatives aimed at empowering rural women in Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur.

In the fiscal year 2023-24, Capri's CSR initiatives have impacted over 50,000 women. The company has set a goal to reach an additional 2 Lakh women in the next 5 years. Their work focuses on breaking barriers and creating a more equitable society through accessible financial services, community-led models, and initiatives fostering economic independence.

Mr. Rajesh Sharma, Managing Director of Capri Global Capital Ltd., underscores the importance of collaboration between corporates, government, and civil society to overcome barriers such as limited access to finance, education, resources, and social norms.

Capri Global’s CSR initiatives include "Sustainable Agriculture Livelihood" projects across 4 states/regions, aiming to empower approximately 40,000 women farmers. Through regenerative agriculture, nutrition-sensitive practices, and digital technology training, the initiative seeks to ensure higher self-confidence, economic independence, and overall well-being in rural areas.

Their Livelihood initiative focuses on communication, business, and life skills, facilitating better livelihood opportunities for 7,000 Small Holder Women Farmers (SHWF). The interventions include regenerative & nutrition-sensitive agriculture, livestock management, fruit orchards, and natural resource management.

The initiative collaborates with local women's cooperatives, promoting traditional agricultural practices, seed treatment, and the use of organic fertilizers. The horticulture initiative contributes to improvements in maternal and child health.

Additionally, mentorship programs, market linkages, and community collectives empower women entrepreneurs through these initiatives as well.
