Visishta Gramodaya Swayam Sadhana Parishad is a non-Profit, Non-political and Secular, Voluntary Youth Service Organisation, simply called as SADHANA which abbreviates Society for Action & Development of Human Awareness for National Advancement. , SADHANA is the given shape and spirit of the efforts of a few Educated like minded youth , particularly, well trained and service rendered as National Service Volunteers (NSV) under Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) (Min. of H.R.D., Dept. of Youth Affairs, Govt. of India) at Visakhaptnam, and belongs to weaker sections and Daliths with blessings of the local elders to make awareness and bring socio-economical and integrated development among the marginalised Urban/Rural mass, particularly the Dalith, Poor, Backward, oppressed and exploited youth and women. It was established in 1989 and got registered in the year 1990, under Indian Societies Registration Act., 1860. Approved by F.C.R.A. from Min. of Home Affairs and got exemption under 12 (A) & 80 (G) of IT Act, Government of India. , MISSION: Empowering the local Community to be Self-Reliant in Reconstruction of their lives for leading a prosperous life with mutual support and self-initiated good governance . , STRATEGY : SADHANA believes that the only Educational Empowerment leads the Nation towards the sustainable development from grass roots level and it should be owned by the community. , , Achievements: , , National Youth Award in reorganization of the outstanding voluntary work rendered in the field of rural development, national integration and social service. , , Organized women welfare and child development through establishment of women mutually aided thrift and co-op society with 3600 members and 500 SHGs. , , Taken up NFE project from 1992-2002 with the support from Min. of HRD and literate around 5000 children bellow the age of 9-14. , , Taken up National Child Labour Project under Min. of labour govt. of India in collaboration with district Bala karmika vidya vikasa society and organized 6 special schools with 300 strength per year for 9 years i.e 1995-2004 and from 2006-08. And get educated with special rehabitation package for about 1600 child laborers. , , Organized coastal fisher folk communities from Bheemunipatnam to payakaraopeta mandals through Keratam Network supported by Action-aid India over 63 villages of 9 coastal mandals in visakhapatnam district with 1 lakh population. , , Organizing Andhra Pradesh Community Based Tank Management Programme towards water users association strengthening and water sheds management in collaboration with dept. of irrigation and CADA govt. of A.P. supported by World Bank. , , Organized Tribal welfare activities thorough PEARL project i.e. people empowerment and access to right to livelihood in of 856 Tribal families of 20 villages in 2 panchayats of Hukumpeta mandal of Paderu division. , , Working towards capacity building and institutionalization nodal agencies for NGOs and CBOs networks. , , Affiliated and closely associated with Nehru Yuva Kendra, Andhra University, state and central govt. and non-govt. supported agencies towards development of sustainable agriculture, disabled welfare, community forest management etc. , , Organized medical and health services towards family welfare, Eye care, women and child health, HIV-Aids and organized integrated water, sanitation and hygiene education project for 10 years supported by Wateraid-UK.
